I will be showing off some of my soaps at https://www.facebook.com/KimsSalonSpa Kim’s Salon & Spa Summer Pop-up, associated with the Gurnee Farmer’s Market, this Sunday, June 22, from 10 am – 2 pm. One of the hardest things about cold-process soap making is the wait. Wait. Wait. Wait! At least four long weeks, and that’s assuming you have all the ingredients on hand from the get-go! For the record, it’s worth it, though.
Sometimes, however, you might not want to wait, or be able to wait. In rides melt and pour soap to the rescue! No cure time needed! As soon as it hardens, it’s ready.
During this “Time of Corona,” I thought I’d jump into the melt and pour market for the sake of expediency. I put together my own blend of bases to make a recipe with the creamiest lather ever. And it leaves your skin so clean, fresh, and not dried out.
And of course, since it’s “Corona Time,” I had to make something with a twist of lime. 😉

It’s a rough cut, to be sure, (meaning no “staging”) but I wanted you to see the inside, “where the land and sea meet the sky.” The scent is described as, “a fresh mix of eucalyptus, bergamot, citrus, tea tree, mint, geranium, musk, amber, sandalwood, and moss.” This would be a great refreshing eye-opener in the morning shower. 🙂

This lovely scent has notes of camphor, cedar wood, pine, and lavender. It’s very green and refreshing and is neither feminine nor masculine. It smells like a nice walk in the springtime woods.

This soap smells like a candy factory! In addition to the chocolate and amber scent, it also has notes of lavender and tangerine. It’s very sweet and delicious smelling. Due to the fragrance oil, it discolors to a dark brown, despite my best efforts, although there is a little decorative color on the top that will wash off with first use.
